Sweet Treasure ((c) 2006)

by Kenneth Scott   Oct 9, 2006

My beloved, you are a blessing to me,
far more than you can ever grasp.
You are even more than the woman I long for:
you are the woman I need, cherish, treasure,
love. You are the woman who lifted me up
in my time of sorrow, who nurtured me
in my hours of grief. And every time I hold you,
caress you, kiss you, I feel whole, at peace,
complete, as though we belonged to each other
all along. The humble beauty of your very being welcomes me
comforts me, satisfies me effortlessly. If this is not love,
then what manner of bliss is this?
Even forever isn't long enough to experience the true depth
of our most genuine embrace,
and I would rather suffer ten billion deaths
than cause you even one second of pain.
Your very presence in my life has deeply renewed
my definition of romantic love, and you are truly my sweet treasure.
