Before Life's Liquor in its Cup Be Dry

by sibyllene   Oct 9, 2006

A cup,
filled with the stuff of life -
a garnet hue

like the taste of deep kisses
the wet blood of suffering
and truth.

Drink
and be soberly filled
with the rough buzz of being.

Be sated
with gladness of feeling and tasting
and seeing.

    Good work ...

but verse 2 stanza 1 threw me off, for all other verses had 1-2 words in the first stanza... then a long stanza.. then another short...
it may bring the poem into prespective a little more if verse 2 stanza 1 was a wee shorter.
