Your Last Breath

by BeautifulxMess   Oct 14, 2006

Times you want to leave yourself on the dirt. You figure life's just going to suffer more, and I'm only going to get hurt. But even though you need to try you want to give in. But you got to keep on going, because you know you want to win.

All those times you said that you don't need anyone else. You said you're happy, but deep inside you're just an only book on a shelf.
That mountain you want to climb takes pride in your mind. A mile to run takes you to your soul to find.

You feel so alive you're close to find your place. But as you get closer you fall down on your face. You punch, pound, and curse to the ground. Then, you look and you find it's hell all around.

It's like that hand you took that got you to the end. But it deceived you, and you're back where you started again. Over and over you sink to the floor. All the times of wondering you don't know what this is for.

Finally, you decide you're going to settle down for a while. You're going to rest your life for all those miles. Then, you find yourself on your knees. Staring at the sky, asking God, listen please. No matter how many times you fall, so many things you'll regret. If you never find God, you'll never cherish your last breath.

*This poem is for my friends. Mainly to tell them you know, this is a message to them. So hope y'all like it.
