Courage

by Minkus   Oct 16, 2006

Falling after taking the bullet
and then standing up again,
stumbling to do his duty:
The soldier's commitment is part of his soul--
just as it is part of all souls...
But how many allow that secret place
to come to light?
How many, instead, succumb to the pain and
decide not to continue on?
With the latter, I think, the majority makes its home.
So read these words
and decide that the next bullet you take
will not be a fatal one;
decide that you will stand up again
and carry out your mission,
instead of laying down to squirm in agony,
like an injured animal,
and die--
decide to be part of the elite, heroic minority,
the people that, like soldiers,
are ultimately committed to their goal.
Choose the way that you will be admired for,
not scorned,
the way that will bring glory to you and your army,
not shame--

Choose to be invincible.
