This Rose

by 4g0tten_f@iry   Oct 17, 2006

Emerging through our darkened eyes
Flows tears of an empty, lost sunrise
As you gently leave my heart and go
With nothing but a single rose

Fear is flooded in my sleep
As your footprints mark my soul so weak
But although intense as you may seem
Still you drop my rose and leave.

Pretty flower, lonesome, lost
So long it's been, for time forgot
For even though this rose you gave
Still our passion slowly fades

How do I drown the silence screams?
And forget my now broken and fading dreams?
As Heaven cries this icy night
For another endless, losing fight

Late my nights of raging fears
The sinking feeling fighting near
For all you do is come and go
And leave behind another rose

Two nights we have to cherish time
Before another sad goodbye
But this time it will be the last
For I will not wait with a lonesome heart

To risk a love that lifts me high
Is to leave our weeping rose to die
For although our hearts wont beat the same
This bloodstained rose still bears my name

Emerging through this blackened night
Is the sound of a sweet and soft goodbye
As I gently leave your heart and go
With nothing but this withered rose.
