The woman who woke him
He was aged, stout, but weak
Could not even walk a meter with ease
He was very feeble to work; no one to lend a hand too
Asked the existing people around, for a penny, to fill his stomach
Was fruitless, as it was an unusual hour
Stood there, looking forward for someone to help
Miserably, he found not a soul, to aid
So, slept there, for a while; it was a house's corridor
To his luck, a woman emerged; inquired if he was hungry
Without a shred of doubt, he uttered yes
Again rested because of his inability
She now seemed to be empathetic
Shifted into the house
Searched all utensils, found the lot to be deserted
Regretfully, woke him to inform this.
He was in hopes that she would offer something
But, finally, he sleeps again, listening to this
