Tsunami

by Afraid of the Dark   Oct 17, 2006

Close your eyes and picture this,
The perfect azure sky,
The sun beams forth, onto my skin,
And downy clouds glide by.

From my vantage point atop,
The terracotta tiles,
I watch the world as it rolls by,
And the water aisles.

The water roadways flow below,
And gurgle as they pass,
Debris caught within their flow,
Brush buildings as they pass.

On another building top,
A couple huddle close,
Watching as, by the water flow,
A mother cries the most.

In the centre of the water,
A child of two or three,
Sits upon a shaky craft,
Her tears a silent plea.
