Memories of You

by Karin Erlacher   Oct 20, 2006

On this lonely day, I dream
I dream of my life and past
Nothing now is what it seems
Certain memories can't last
Those are the memories I miss
The ones I miss the most
The ones of your gentle kiss
And the parties we used to host
Your voice as you whisper in my ear
Your touch when you caress
Those sweet nothings I used to hear
Along with all the rest
You used to make me smile
You used to make me scream
You'd always go the extra mile
Then you tore me at the seams
Now I can't stand your face
I can't take how you make me feel
How did our love ever embrace
Everything that I knew was real
Every silent scream I'd make
Would tear my heart even more
You'd shake me til I'd break
And then walk out the door
Heaven forbid I felt any pain
Since the day you had to leave
There's nothing left to lose or gain
All that's left here is me
I swear you want to see me cry
And you won't stop til that day
You left me standing, asking why
And you're never gonna go away
I have Nicholas now, our son
I know there's no love left for me
One day, he'll know what you've done
And that's the last of my memories
