Questions

The following is not a funny poem, as this catagory demands, but just something I wrote with kids in mind...and this is the only section of the website with a "for kids" catagory...

Anyway, enjoy the poem. Tell me what you think!

-----------
Who put the hum in the hummingbird's wings,
And the tune in the song which the nightingale sings?

Who put the red in the red-breast's breast,
Or drew him the plans to construct his nest?

Who put the flight in the dragon-flies shape,
And taught to the bee it's honey to make?

Who put the hop in the grasshopper's bounce,
Or the spring in the jump of a young kitten's pounce?

What in the world could do all these things,
And create the joy which nature brings?

Who could paint upon a little girl's face,
A smile drawn from a singing bird's grace?

Who could give a little boy the glee,
That he gets when watching the honey bee?

Who indeed, can do all these things,
And give to us the joy which nature brings?

    What a sweet poem.

In a way it was so simple compared to other things I have seen you write, and yet it was also very thought-provoking. As for the structure, it was pretty much flawless. I could not find a single thing in this poem that I thought needed correction of any kind.

I miss seeing poems frequently submitted by you, in my opinion you are one of the most talented writers on this site.

    Best wishes.xx
