Fade Away

Everything is fading and I have no way of stopping it. I get promises made to me and no one ever seems able to keep them. I feel lost and left behind but that's OK as long as everyone else is happy. I don't matter...I get that now but thank you for the reminder.

Watching you fly by without one word to say other than the dreaded good-bye. So move on with your lives and be what you want to be and I'll sit back and watch you all become great people and slowly be left behind.

You say it's OK to cry but it's the hardest thing for me to do because I'm not suppose to...I'm suppose to be strong, I'm suppose to let everything go...I'm suppose to cheer you up not the other way around. So I hold in my tears and look past my fears and help you survive the day as I slowly rot away.

Do what you must and walk away, but always know I'll be right here watching from the side, making sure you know even if you don't want me around, I'm here to stay. My promises are always kept even if yours fade away...
