Dark angel

by Haylie   Oct 30, 2006

Spreading her wings
once beautiful white
now a bloody black
she looks out
hears the echoing screams
the dull thud of pain
watches lives run out
once she tried to help
but it began to mount
smiles and laughter
grew distant
tears stopped flooding
and slowly she fell
to a painful abiss
cruel and cold
now she fights
pain with pain
gathering broken hearts
in place of her own
curtaining them with
her dirty wings
lashing out at the tormentors
but fleeing
before she can
be picked up
