Young Love

by Cathy   Oct 31, 2006

I guess when your young you think of the life you wish to have not realizing that life may leave you sad

When your young and you feel like your in love there ain't no other person you put above

You start to dream and think of that person everyday, not knowing that down the road the feelings may fade

You give up the things you loved to do most, you spend all your time entertaining your love and being there host

Theres nothing in the world you wouldn't do for them, but later in the future your hurt once again

Even the years have no effect because the person you love has lost their respect

You start to feel lonely and confused all the time, the talks and laughs you can no longer find

He starts to stay out all during the night, you start by arguing but end in a fight

He doesn't call you anymore to see hows your day, he makes you feel like your just in his way.

You don't go out anymore the way you use to, because hes either too tired or has other things to do

You have no one to talk to cause you gave up your friends, no one to talk to to help your heart mend

And in the end your heart ends up broken ain't nothing you can do, you finally start to realize the love wasn't true.

I can so relate to this poem because I did exactly that....I gave up everything that i ever had my best friend for one to be with this guy and then come to find out he didn't he love me back. He just thought I was nothing more than a friend. He tried changing me and I got hurt in the end. So I walked out on him. Srry about all that you most likely ddin;t want to know about it but I would just like to let you know that your poem has a powerful meaning behind it. Keep writing and I hope to read more of you work as we go along.
