Heart's recollections

by Twisted Heart   Nov 1, 2006

The heart is always searching for a place to safely stay
Outside of broken memories, that haunt it every day
Within a peaceful haven where it can heal, if given time
Without the constant doubt that keeps it trapped inside the mind.

A hunger for the healing of a soul that lost its faith
Among the darkened webbing of pain it found its place
Was lifted for a moment by a thought that grew anew
From the scattered ashes of a life torn right in two.

Upon the face of distance there came a simple thought
Heartfelt for just a second but then just as fast forgot
Because the ears had heard them in a time so long ago
But not so long as to forget the hurt of its sharp blow.

To open up the heart again and remove the wall of pain
That was built with words of brick and standing it remains
Would be a step in faith that the soul cannot recall
Because there is no safety net to protect it from the fall.

In depth of understanding what the heart cannot deny
The pieces of a broken life that was shattered by the lies
Would be an act of kindness to the mind that guides the thoughts
To remind the heart of all the things that the soul forgot.
