Let's Pretend

by Kalgalath   Nov 2, 2006

I should of known better and turned back
Then to play pretend with your paper heart
It's blank, thin, and decrepit
Because you don't know what you want
You are abashed in life because of that
And you make others suffer for it

Your heart is coextensive to an iceberg;
Above your surface, you seem amiable
But underneath, your heart is wicked and treacherous
You must walk specific paths to get through it with no hurt

I started down the path but I only made it midway before I tumbled down
Down into a deep crevasse, where I finally landed
When I came to, I was cold and alone

Did you know that your heart is cold?
It's frigid like an artic night, when there is fresh fallen snow and every thing is silent
The silence makes me lonely

So in substance you said "Let's Pretend."
I don't think that I took heed to that warning
Nor do I think that you will ever change your ways
For that to happen, you must be humbled
