Changes

I've changed so much in the past year.
Sometimes I don't think you see it.
You still see the little me, who was
Always trying to please you,
Always trying to do what was right.

Now I've grown up.
Not all the way, but more than you seem to notice.
I have my own friends.
I have my own life.
I want to live it and make my own mistakes.

So I can learn and grow up even more
And finally please you,
Finally make you proud
And show you the wonderful person I've become.

But you've got to give me space,
To grow up,
To learn to fly,

To learn the real me.
