That True Meaning Of FINE

by Christie   Nov 6, 2006

Fine, a word we hide behind,
When all is not okay,
When we'd prefer to save our smiles,
For a different day.

When we laugh and run through fields,
Can't help but dance and play,
Yet happiness never reaches our mind,
Somehow it lost its way.

When the option of not living,
Doesn't sound like such a bad thing,
When we know without trying,
That we just won't win.

When you feel the only person,
Who won't let you down is you,
When you feel all hope is lost,
And there's nothing you can do.

So the next time you ask in passing,
That old question, how am I?
I will reply, smiling of course,
Thankyou, I'm just FINE.
