Empty Space

I have a whole in my heart, an empty space,
something I know I can never replace.
I looked up to him in so many ways,
following him around each and every day.
He taught me how to play cards, and how to fish,
he would always give me treats out of the candy dish.
Now that he's gone I have no one that will listen,
play cards with me or take me fishing.
I will miss his hugs, I will miss his love,
but all I need to do is look up above,
and I'll see him smiling down at me,
knowing one day I will be set free.
