Light Lost

God formed him beautiful, God shaped with grace
and in all creation
gave him the fairest face.

God gave him courage, God granted him might
and though just a servant
Heaven bathed in his light.

God fashioned him smart, God composed him great
and when God created man
God gave to him hate.

Man was special and most loved above all
For this he was jealous and would fight and then fall.

Once most beloved, once heavens brightest star
He writhes wingless in the pit
Heavens darkest scar.

For his Maker whom he so did admire
His heart now burns to wound
and 'gainst man does conspire.
