The Setting of the Sun

by Twisted Heart   Nov 8, 2006

Along the path of loneliness
She walks with tender steps
Searching for the silent man
Who woke her from her rest.

Upon the darkened streets
She treads the cobble stone
Silent as the gentle breeze
With haste, she goes alone.

Into the garden filled with death
She sees the man approach
His eyes are shining red as fire
He envelopes her in his cloak

A scent of doom has beaconed her
And though she tries to run
His eyes now hold her captive
In the setting of the sun.

His smile is one of greedy lust
With fangs that tip her skin
They sink into her fleshy neck
To drain her veins again.

Just a taste to satisfy
His thirst, but not to kill
Because he knows another night
He'll call her at his will.

He'll beacon her from slumber
And though she'll want to run
He'll hold her captive with his eyes
In the setting of the sun.
