The Circles of Life

The Circles of Life
By: Twisted Heart

As the wind sweeps through the barren branches
Sifting autumn leaves from their hollow perch
The sullen moon turns eyes down and glances
As the lightning strikes upon the darkened earth.

Inside the heart of winter comes a distant moan
Upon the winds, it crashes through the sky
With strength that leads, it travels all alone
Across the soul of spring it comes to die.

The rains now herald blossoms from the ground
To peek above their homes within the soil
And tip a bit of color to the sounds
Of Mother Nature as she starts to toil.

Into the summer breeze, there comes a sorrow
As leaves and flowers, rise up to meet the sun
Shattered by the recollection of tomorrow
So another of Life's circles has begun.
