Borrowed Lives

by Marin   Nov 14, 2006

From the day that we're born
Till the day that we die
We were loaned a gift
A beautiful thing called life

We claim it as or own
And do what we please
Falling victims to sin
Like a deadly disease

Always doing wrong,
And only rarely right
When most of our temptations
We refuse to fight

We try hard to fit in
By imitating others
Always ignoring the rules
And norms of our fathers

So why, do we abuse our gifts like that
When at the end of our lives
Our maker is going to ask for them back
