Sight's Light Deceit

by Hugh Coffey   Nov 15, 2006

My Life has been long, and filled with much pain.
It had many joys, from which little was gained.

By ones whom I loved, I’ve had my heart broken,
They took all I had, and gave back just token.

They tried all they could, to poison my mind,
To show me that people, were all quite unkind.

I faced almost dying, with many around.
And yet felt all alone, till this lady was found.

She taught me that all, was not as it seemed,
That mankind was good, and could be redeemed.

This angel of God, sent from above,
Gave unto me, a gift of true love.

A love of a person, from deep in her soul,
A feeling so great, I finally am whole.

She has taught me to see, without using my eyes.
To look with my heart, for the beauty inside.

Her soul is so perfect, and now is with mine.
I now know a love, very hard to define.

I have no more pain; I see no more flaws,
True love can be found, beyond physical laws.

A blind one can see, the world that we miss,
And get more from life, or even one kiss.

Their heart is more open, and love more complete.
They are not impeded, by sight’s light deceit.
