My True Angel

by Hugh Coffey   Sep 30, 2007

As A young man, I thought I knew love,
It was not a gift sent from above.
But rather a thing which with time would grow
Like a small stream that gently would flow.
So I planted a seed and nurtured it well
Then into a trap is where I soon fell
I thought I could save a thing which was lost,
I gave all of my heart at a great cost.
I thought I could soften a heart of pure stone
By giving many things worth money alone.
This heart just got colder and took all that I had.
She did all she could to make me go mad
This woman was cruel beyond my belief
She sought to get ritches by ending my life.
But God heard my pleading for life I did cherish
And used his great power so I would not perish
My money and riches were all lost with great pain
But a very true wealth was soon to be gained.
In spite of all tries, I still had my life
Time was all I had lost, not a true wife.
I then found an Angel God sent from above
A woman who showed me the meaning of Love
True love is a gift, which God offers to all
A feeling unequaled which leaves one in awe.
If you look in the eyes of one you do love
And see a pure soul sent from God up above
You feel great beauty not seen with your eyes
A wonderful person that tells you no lies.
One who shows love without using her wiles
But makes well it known with a kiss and a smile.
This love can be found if you open your heart
And allow for your soul just to give it a start.
My Life now is now filled with Joy oh so rare,
For I have a true Angel, for whom I do care.
