A Young Girl Of 2

by Dana   Nov 17, 2006

A young girl of 2
as happy as she could be
crying out with laughter
"you can't catch me"
the boy had no idea
for he was 2 as well
what would happen to the girl that day
only time would tell
their game of hide and seek raged on
and it was her turn to seek
he hid in the closet and saw something
something silver and sleek
it was in fact a pistol
which he pulled from the shelf
it was like a shot heard around the world
when he cried out for help
he had pulled the trigger
just as the girl had opened the door
the bullet went through her chest
she lay motionless on the floor
a young girl of 2
as happy as she could be
she's joined with her father in Heaven
she cries "I love you, Daddy"

In memory of Kathy King.
1961-1963
Her father is Leroy King, who is my Papa.
