A Special Angel

by Patti   Nov 18, 2006

My special, loving mother
A shining jewel for all to see,
You taught me much without me knowing
And you did it so humbly

Your faith in God was admirable
Your quiet witness to His grace,
Even during your most trying times
I could see Him in your face.

Through your trials I saw courage
The strength to carry on,
Remarkable resilience in times of sheer exhaustion
Rising each new day willing to face the dawn.

You did so much for others
Giving of yourself with love,
Reaching out to those in need
With the beauty of a gentle dove.

I will never, ever forget you mom
I miss you more and more each day,
You taught me faith and courage during your most painful times
And much more than mere words can say.

You're in God's heavenly home now
I know you're in good hands,
Someday I know I'll see you again
When I too go on to the promised land.
