Darkness

by Restless Envy   Nov 19, 2006

Screaming in the silence,
Destruction all around,
Inevitable acts of violence,
Slowly start to bound.

Chains shackle the heart,
Words linger upon tainted lips,
Never heard never spoken, they depart,
As the mind fades and slowly rips apart.

Tripping in the darkness,
The guiding light becoming faint,
Loosing sight of wrong and right,
The truth becoming taint.

Tears welling up inside,
Searching for that lost faith,
Running lost asking, "Where do I hide?"
No signs, no trace.

Searching, hoping, turning back,
Looking for that helping hand,
Everything fading black,
Looking for someone to understand.
