That christmas...

by Fi   Nov 24, 2006

That Christmas day we went to see you there. The streets were bare; there was no one there. I knew you felt lonely, stuck alone thinking while others were unable to realise your emotions.

As the little one handed you your Christmas gift I remember the smile it brought to your face, the tears it brought to your eyes and mine.

I felt my heart sink as my throat grew blocked, I didn’t want this to be one of my very last thoughts.

I’ll always remember that day when I felt my heart flip away, even if there’s never time I’ll remember all the memories and sigh as the fear filled my eyes.

There’s something inside of me even from when that bond was formed; it will never be lost.
