What is Jesus to me?

by Jessica   Nov 26, 2006

Unable to stand on my own,
He called without the use of a phone.
Told me the pain was soon to be over,
I knew it was luck to have him like a four-leaf clover.
Reaching for my hand he touched my soul,
Sharing all his love and he made me whole.
He touched my hand wiping away the hate,
Clearing it out and taking it all, giving me a new fate.
The one I was suppose to call daddy never even bothered,
Giving me more of a reason to recognize Jesus as my only father.
Jesus showed me the real meaning of a true friend,
Never ever thinking of even directing me to a dead end.
I can admit he let me fall once or twice,
But never allowing me to gamble off my life.
Momma always told me to pray every night,
Not telling me I had to learn my lessons through my own sight.
Even through times of hardship it never lead me to turn my back,
Jesus knew I’d become stronger & held my hand so I’d never fall off track.
When God chose to take my love ones away,
My day become nothing, but just one full of gray.
A memorable birthday he gave me with one less there to sing,
Jesus wiped away all the tears and placed me under his wing.
