Me and The Lonely Tree

by Graciella   Nov 27, 2006

Night, pitch, black, forest
Sitting in a lonely forest
Sat upon a lonely tree
Staring at the world around me
Shallow grave beneath the tree

I can hear the body breathing
I can see its tears, its weeping
I can feel the heart still beating
Underneath my lonely tree

No one heard it, it was screaming
No one heard a thing but me
I refuse to help the body
I shall not leave the lonely tree

Day, pitch, black, forest
Standing in a lonely forest
Looking at the lonely tree
To my left the body's rotting
To my right a fresh one lies

I can see the body moving
I can hear the body climbing
I can feel the body sitting
Sitting in my lonely tree

I knew I should go and greet it
And so I climbed up to meet it
Sitting on my lonely tree

No one saw the body falling
No one saw a thing but me
I refuse to help the body
I shall not leave my lonely tree
