Dear Grandpa

by Lucy Lewin   Dec 1, 2006

Even though you're still with me
It's as if you're really far away.
I know you wouldn't want me to cry
But I miss you so much and the tears just stream down my face.
It's hard to say goodbye forever
When before it was 'just a little while'
Now it's time to face life and go on
All the while, thinking of you.

You did so many things and
You are such an inspiration to us all.
You were so loving and caring.
You were always very funny and always made us smile.

I know that as you're looking down on me right now
writing this to you
You're telling me not to cry.
Not to cry out in sorrow
But cry in happiness that there's no more suffering.
No more cancer. No more being far away.

I'll always look up to the sky to find you:
The brightest star out there, that shines all the time, no matter what.

I love you and miss you so.
Thank you for being my Great Grandpa

Love always,
Lucy
