Divine Comedy

by dandy   Dec 4, 2006

Isn't it funny the way life works,
one day you're well and fine.
The next you fall flat on your face
and the world is not so kind.

You wonder how things got so bad
in one blink of an eye.
A smile once played upon your lips
before happiness bid its goodbye.

It seems like you will never wake
from this un-ending nightmare.
Your eyes open with falling tears,
to hold you, no one is there.

Why did this have to happen you?
You wonder throughout the day.
Will something good come of this sorrow
or will you your head forever hang in dismay?

It's hard not knowing what is to come
or why things happened in times passed.
It's as if God is chuckling to himself,
As if He is the one who laughs last.

Life is one big divine comedy
for all of those above.
Our mistakes are their source of entertainment,
we try to push ahead but back they do shove.

They can laugh all they want, you'll show them you can do it.
When you finally succeed it will be a sight.
Then they all will stop and stare down upon you
because friends, we laugh last tonight!
