The Light

by Robiie   Dec 4, 2006

Lights are out
All is dark
Not a street sign in sight
To tell her when she is going the wrong way

Afraid to live
Not afraid to die
Creates a subtle diversion
To distract those away from her tears

She climbs the bridge
One step at a time
Stands at the peak and peers over the water below
Not a headlight or street light in her eyes

She jumps
Pain falling out of her chest
The pressure releases
A weight is lifted

A smile graces her face
Happiness consumes
She is dead
She can see the light
