You didnt notice

by somehow broken   Dec 4, 2006

She smiles,
and pretends everythings fine.

Her mother,
so proud of her perfect daughter.

Her father,
watches his little princess blossom.

Everyone around this angel oblivious.

Didn't anyone ever wonder,
where the pretty little scars
on her arm came from?

Or why her sparklings eyes
were always bloodshot
and mascara smudged?

Didn't they wonder why
this princess could never
stay and talk after meals?

Didn't they see
the bathroom door close?
Or hear the shower pounding?

You didn't hear
her shrieks at night.

Or see the pills
being forced down her throat.

And you missed the knife
as it sliced open
her arm.
