Darkened Paths

by The Sky is Falling   Dec 6, 2006

We take a left turn,
We know its not right,
But we decided together,
To do it from spite.

Were heading down ways,
That are heavy with night,
My friends have their lamps,
Which with the night fight.

Weve taken more turns,
Down unknown dark paths,
When the lamps are blown out,
And I hear my friends laugh.

Before I can move,
Scattered footstep I hear,
Telling me now,
That *my friends* are not here

In darkness Im lost,
Im panicking now,
Why did I go left?
Please tell me just how?

Looking back in my life,
As Im wandering blindly,
I can see they turned left,
Many years before me.

Theyve been utterly calm,
Leading me wrong,
Practicing now,
For much, much too long.

So here I collapse,
In a corner I sink,
With no hope in sight,
In despair I now sink.
