The Box

by Tiffany   Dec 7, 2006

A plain box with nothing but a name,
containing things meant to be thrown away,
The broken rocks of a once marvelous collection, wilted flowers, dull promise rings as well as a few extraneous things.
In the closet a few skeletons lay not ready to see the light of day.
Old phone numbers, broken mirrors, photos yellow and dull with age,
Six torn and tattered journals,
on the top they lay.
The box full to the brim, is tied with string,
The memories within only sting,
All the memories fade away
as it's released into the bay.

I was reading along to see what was going to happen to all of these things that could mean so much to someone, and when I read they were thrown into the bay, It makes me wonder as to what reasons did the person have for throwing it all away. i loved it 5/5
