Remember Me

by Beautifully Disfigured   Dec 11, 2006

Remember Me
When you see that first ray of sunlight in the morning
Or when the rain begins to fall as the sky grows darker
Remember Me
When you feel that there is no hope left for tomorrow
When the one thing taking over you is sorrow
Remember Me
When you hold the knife to your chest
Remember how I was laid to rest
Remember Me
When you contemplate the pills on your nightstand
Remember there will always be someone there with a guiding hand
Remember Me
Don't let your life slip away like mine did
Remember, I was just a kid
Remember Me
Remember that you are young too
Don't worry, you will make it through
Remember Me
Remember I put the rope on and hung myself from that tree
so please, whatever you do, Remember Me

this was not written in my perspective. it was written in the perspective of my friend charlotte. meaning she was the one who killed herself not me of course.

Loved it. I loved view of the person in the poem. Life is hard. I'm sorry for your friend. Life is just too hard on some people

The emotions all there. The empathy and meloncholy as well. But it lacks structure. Something to give the reader an idea when to pause and ponder. At first i would suggest before each "Remeber me" as it would tie each stanza together, but then i noticed there are other "remembers" towards the end and those will distract the reader from the headings. If you want it to be bold, which a topic like this is meant to be bold to prevent others from doing the same, it should have something that pops. "remeber me" should pop. if there are similar phraseology it will blur anddraw the readers eye away from the heading.
