Soaring Memories

by bruised13broken   Dec 13, 2006

On top of a five floor building,
A lonely soul for you was calling.
With the wind blowing on an afternoon heat,
Thoughts of you stream with every heartbeat.

Flashes of memories keep on pouring,
With various emotions groping every scene.
Each of which shows the depth of yearning
For you to come, and my misery be seen.

The vision of us walking side by side,
Hands clasp together with joy unmatched,
Our eyes gleamed with love we cannot hide,
Together we really made a perfect match.

The days spent with you were certainly the best
That everyone thought we were made to last.
But everything we had together was put to test.
Who could've imagined we'd end that fast.

Bruised and broken, I was left to cry.
The inflicted pain bore so deep I thought I'd die.
"Time heals all wounds", that's all they can say.
But I'm still the same even to this day.

Atop this towering lonely structure,
I'll whisper and blow my love for you to hear
My hopes that you'd come back and cure
This pain, inside, that I could no longer bear.

Wow this is an excellent poem, it's funny how it takes so long to gain trust and have a relationship, but it can all be lost in the blink of an eye, excellent write 5/5
