Best of Friends

I have so many friends to name with.
Some I've known since birth,
Some I've shared bruises and notes with,
And some shared with me things of the earth.

Most of them stayed for years,
But there are some I've lost along the way.
They came to ease and calm my fears,
But then, they were gone at the end of the day.

I thought that I would never find
Someone who'd never leave me behind.
Someone to lean on at all times,
And would stay even if I'm without a dime.

To my surprise you came without notice
Brought JOY to my life that's lonely and dying.
To my doubting self you brought justice,
Regaining my trust was another thing.

Out of the blue I wish for you
To be my bestfriend and sister, too.
If you only knew how you changed my life,
For patiently being there in all my strife.

Thank Heavens you came just right,
Before I completely lose trust of everyone.
Thank God for you and your guiding light,
The best of friends you and i have become
