Of Nights

by Brad Champagne   Dec 14, 2006

As moonlight through the window flows
And time drifts slowly by
The light your gentle beauty shows
Whilst in this bed we lie

You slumber on in peaceful sleep
All wrapped in my embrace
Ever by my side you keep
In such a tranquil place

Upon the forehead one light kiss
The spell for now will break
For time forestalls this welcomed bliss
As the wave upon the lake

You stretch and yawn and open eyes
To see me lying there
With simple hug, contented sigh
You return the loving stare

Though tonight I must spent alone
Dreaming you are here
Tomorrow is only a day away
Then once more you're near
