I wish

by Landi Cordier   Dec 14, 2006

You're the one that I love,
the one I desire

if I'd draw a picture to describe my feelings,
I'd use the hazel brown of your eyes,
the rose pink of your lips,
the pitch black of your hair
and the softness of your skin.

you're the great love of my life,
the companion of my soul,
the one I want to spend my life with,
the one I want to grow old with
I wish I could tell you what I feel,
but I'm so afraid that this feeling is unreal,

because of you I learned to stand up for myself,
and because of myself I've learned to stand up for you,
you made me realize that love doesnt have to hurt,
but yet by knowing that I could never be loved by you,
hurts me more than any broken love ever had

you're the great love of my life,
the companion of my soul,
the one I want to spend my life with,
the one I want to grow old with
I wish I could tell you what I feel,
but I'm so afraid that this feeling is unreal,

I wish that that I could capture the fragrance of your being,
capture the colors of your soul,
to hold it close whenever I'm lone,

I wish that I could have you as my own
I wish that I could hold you close,
I wish that whenever I'm sad you'd comfort me

I wish...

This is my favorite of your poems. This is free verse and you don't go back and forth between rhyming and not rhyming. Even though the meters aren't equal the beautiful message makes up for it. Great job!

    I enjoyed this.
I thought the imagery was a joy to read.
The flow threw me off at times again, but apart from that, I liked this very much.

This one was actually pretty good.. I didn't force myself to read it. But you really need to work on flow. Good work other than that.
