Unmistakably Mistakable

Purple clouds
Fallen skies.
Watch the light drain from your eyes.

More than fear
More than emotion.
Drowning in this clear, vast ocean.

Suffocation
Bleeding hearts.
I dread the night my life fell apart.

Expectations
Of my life.
Slowly cutting me like a knife.

Realization
I finally see.
The reason you turned your back on me.

It wasn't sympathy
It wasn't trust.
To simply put it, it was just lust.

I was nothing
Nothing to you.
And yet you denied that it was the truth.

It was only fact
It was only a dream.
Life in the fast lane isn't all that it seems.

You work your way through
All the twists and binds.
You damage and corrupt innocent minds.

Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust.
You ruined my faith and broke my trust.

Now I lay me down to sleep
Sleep through all the pain.
My hurt is only yours to claim.

You can't put a price
On what we had.
The life we had; it makes me mad.

To know it was fake
To know it was a muse.
To know my love you tried to abuse.
