No, it will never be the same.

by Behind Blue Eyes   Dec 17, 2006

In a night you can have your world come crashing down on you.
And in a day, you can have it rebuilt.
But it will never be the same.
No, it will never be the same.

'Cause the memories still linger.
And the pain still hurts.
And your heart just won't forget.
And you'd like to move on,
But the footprints in the sand just won't wash away.

You hope to become numb.
You try to block it from your mind.
You pray for a new beginning.
And hope to be anywhere but here.

And when your shed those tears
They're for that one person.

And when you dream
They're about no one, but them.

So, you stop wishing on stars.
You stop hoping for a miracle.
And birthday candles are nothing special.
For you know that they've never worked

The days will go by
And they'll turn into months
Which will then turn into years.

And in the end, youâ??ll remember all of those long agonizing nights.
But you won't remember the pain.
But who it was that was on your mind
Every night as you fell asleep.

(no, its not meant to rhyme...ever heard of free verse?)
