Death of a Raven

by Jason   Dec 18, 2006

A Raven dies
Burnt by the sun
Soared to close
Flames seared his heart

Flying with all its strength
Longing for such beauty
To escape from the night
Joining with dawn light

As Icarus with wax wings
Searching for a dream
Melted by its pure intensity
Scorched by its cruel hopelessness

A tempest of shadow
Blocked its path
Showering lightning to thwart
Dodging to no avail

Rejecting the Ravens love
The Sun has accepted the storm
