In My Cell

by Tom Hollingworth   Dec 20, 2006

Do you know what you have done?
Do you think you've justified your sin?
Can you see the blood flow down the gutters?
Will you ever see the light again?

What pushes a man to sacrifice?
Who is up there pulling the strings?
When life falls to take another
Why do we shrug and think of other things?

Will I cry when the bombs fall again?
Will I shout in anger against a single death?
Will I fight against the games of mice and men?
Will I wonder 'til my final breath?

How must we live to live again?
Who must we worship to be clean?
Where is the place that I must go
To absolve myself and become a better me?

But why is there the need to live in peace?
Where does this cry for war come from?
How will we achieve the final balance?
Who will we need to string along?

I don't need religion round my neck
I don't need fragile, manmade peace
I don't need pointless, endless war
I need mankind to forever cease
