Rain Drops

Rain Drops

As she staires into the evening sky, a rain drop falls on her cheek, then another, and he grabs her, picking her up from the ground and runs.

Her dark hair is soaked, her clothes like a pail ghost in the storm.
She slips in the mud, pulling him down with her.

She lays there a moment, laughing, then she's up and running again.

He follows her behind a tree and an old wall standing alone. Behind the abandoned house, and she's gone.

A soft creek tells him where she is. He finds her in a corner on the floor of the old house.

Her legs tucked beneath her, wet hair dangling in her face as she smiles sweetly and innocently up at him.

He walks to her, and sits next to her. Wrapping his arms around her, then he softly lifts her chin up and gazes into her dark green eyes.

Then she's off again, running out the door and through the trees, hair flying behind her, skirt soaked, making her look as though she's floating.

He stopped and smiles to himself, she was so beautiful when she was care free.

He ran after her, grabbing her arm gently, and spinning her around, pulling her into a kiss.

After a moment, she pulled back and smiled up at him sleepily
and laid her head on his chest.

He held her tightly, while rocking back and forth for a while.

While they walked home, rain still falling, he held her hand, and she held his heart.

Both not caring if it rained forever.
