Cease to Exist

by Jackie*   Dec 24, 2006

I'm all alone,
upstairs in my room.
But I feel a presence,
and an impending doom.
Something's there with me,
I can feel it so near.
I freeze as a voice,
whispers close to my ear.
"You're a failure,
you are worthless.
Do everyone a favor,
and cease to exist."
I look around,
with a growing sense of dread.
Then the demon,
comes out of my head.
It stands before me,
and I can finally see,
the thing that's constantly,
been terrorizing me.
It's eyes are cold,
they look like death.
It's drained of color,
and looks lifeless.
I stare at this thing,
that's tortured me so long.
And it continues to sing,
its little song.
"You're disgusting,
you're a mess.
Do what I say,
and cease to exist."
It smiles at me,
and hands me a razor blade.
Then it instructs me,
to slice open my vein.
I do as I'm told,
and I begin to bleed.
The blood hits the floor,
and pools at my feet.
With each cut I make,
the demon seems to get strong.
It keeps on repeating,
the words of its song.
"So much wrong with you,
too many faults to list.
Do yourself a good thing,
and cease to exist."
The demon is right,
I need to die.
My body goes numb,
as I bleed myself dry.
My breath begins to shorten,
the lights begin to fade.
My heart slows it's beating,
and my life goes away.
My body lies still,
as I enter eternal rest.
I did what the demon ordered,
I ceased to exist.
