Some Lose Everything

by Tainted Butterfly   Dec 25, 2006

**Unless you see what is between the lines of this poem do you truly understand what it is about.

some come home everyday
to an empty house
wishing someone would say
I'm here.
some close the door
behind them
hoping no one
will find them
in this empty state

some say life
has lost it's meaning
it's very ending and beginning
some look at themselves
in the mirror
wondering how did they
get here so alone
on their own.

some wish the darkness
would swallow them
some wish they would
never see light
some wish that they could
take it all back
some never give in
without the fight.
some search for the blade
hoping it will cut enough
into their soul
they'll feel less pain.
life will heal like the skin
and make them whole

some fill the glass so full
searching for the meaning
in the reflection that stares
back at them.
some look at the grave
wish themselves into a box
not to come out alive
hoping they will just be dead
like their hearts.
live in darkness
like the box
that engulfs it
at every corner

some just give into the madness
of the very sadness
that is felt day in and day out.
and some..
lose everything.
