Christmas Wish

Dear God, I hope you hear me when I say
I'm not feeling so well; I can't smile today
It's Christmas, and I should be overjoyed
But I feel as though some thing's been destroyed

My happiness is gone; every bit of it
It's as though my good feelings have suddenly quit
When I woke up this morning, I just wanted to cry
I feel so alone, can you please tell me why?

I can only see what has all gone wrong
And a broken heart has been hurting for so long
Lately I've been building on many many lies
They burden me so much it brings tears to my eyes

Depression in my soul doesn't seem to have its end
My heart has wounds that have no way to mend
With so much weight, I can't make it though
I'm heavily broken, and I don't know what to do

I'm with no one to keep me from the cold
I'm with no one who's arms will lovingly hold
Bitter memories of my lonely world seem so endless
Will you be gracious to save me from my distress?

Dear God, I'm praying that you'll take me away
So that I can be with you on this Christmas day
Will you send me an angel to carry me to you?
So that I may be with someone who's heart is true?

Please, I wish to come home, to that place very far
And if you will take me to where ever you are...
Care for my family and friends when I cross heaven's line
I pray you will grant this Christmas wish of mine
