I love you

by Stephie   Dec 29, 2006

I love you.
There are so many ways to say it,
but embellishing the words
don\\\'t make them any more true.

For instance,
I believe you could sustain me
through starvation, and make hours
pass in minutes,

it seems
that you have been granted
a beauty found only in
the grandest of dreams-

and I,
I have not the ability
nor the desire to
avert my eyes.

Your voice
is like angels singing-
and in your wake
they all rejoice.

I love you.
There are so many ways to prove it
if saying the words
doesn\\\'t sound true.

For instance,
I couldn\\\'t eat the week I lost you,
and I just want most days
to finish,

it seems
that what we had
was a beauty granted
only in pipe dreams-

and I,
I have not the ability,
nor the strength
to avert my eyes

Your voice
is like sirens singing-
and in your wake
I\\\'ve lost all reason to rejoice.

I love you.
