Listening to Footsteps

You yelled at me.
you yelled "go home"
so i left
all i could hear was my feet hitting the ground
i listened hard but i never heard it
i heard two feet hitting the ground
i wanted to hear you running after me
but i didn't all i heard was my footsteps
i didn't look back
i wanted you to take me by surprise
you didn't
and just like that...
its over
